Question 1

Where do I start if I just want to browse?

Accepted Answer

Where do I start if I just want to browse?

Start on /explore to browse the collection or search. Open /tools for LinkLoot browser utilities. The ranking is under /explore/top; categories such as /category/tools-apps and /category/knowledge-learning help you browse by topic.

Which public areas exist?

Which areas require login?

Question 2

Which public areas exist?

Accepted Answer

Public areas include the homepage, Explore, categories, loot detail pages, blog, blog categories, tags, creator profiles, FAQ, API docs, contact, privacy, imprint, and terms.

Question 3

Which areas require login?

Accepted Answer

Submitting, profile, settings, favorites, following, inbox, store, Gem purchases, and API keys require an account. Use the navigation, profile menu, or direct routes like /submit, /profile, /settings, /favorites, /following, and /inbox.

Question 4

How do I find relevant loot?

Accepted Answer

Use the navigation search for entries, blog posts, and categories. In Explore, you can filter by topic, LinkLoot access costs, and availability of an automated assessment. Then read the entry's details and available sources.

Question 5

What are tags and categories for?

Accepted Answer

Categories group larger topics. Tags lead to topic pages like /tags/{tag}, which collect matching loot, blog posts, and related tags.

Question 6

Can I follow topics?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can follow tags on tag, loot, and blog pages. Followed topics influence your feed and can surface matching updates in your inbox.

Question 7

How do I submit new loot?

Accepted Answer

Go to /submit. Add a title, short description, language, category, details, tags, media, and sources. To publish, you need to be signed in, accept the terms, and truthfully disclose material AI generation or AI editing and any realistic synthetic or manipulated media.

Question 8

When do I need to disclose AI or manipulated media in my own loot?

Accepted Answer

If your loot or media shown in it was materially generated or edited with AI, you must disclose that truthfully on /submit before publication. You select how the text and media were created and explicitly confirm whether realistic synthetic or manipulated depictions are included. Pure spelling, grammar, or formatting clean-up without changing substantive meaning does not count as material AI editing. The disclosure may appear directly on the published loot; LinkLoot may request evidence or restrict publication where disclosures are missing or implausible.

Question 9

Can I save unfinished loot?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On /submit you can save drafts or keep loot private. Drafts autosave once meaningful content exists.

Question 10

Which statuses can my loot have?

Accepted Answer

Loot can be Draft, Private, In review, Published, or Archived. It becomes public only after review or publication.

Question 11

Which sources can I add?

Accepted Answer

You can add sources like website, GitHub, docs, demo, article, video, or download. Add and mark the most important source clearly.

Question 12

How does LinkLoot check external links?

Accepted Answer

LinkLoot automatically checks sources, media links, and visible Markdown links. It checks URL format, private or local targets, DNS, redirects, HTTP status, HTTPS/TLS, suspicious download types, security-header signals through MDN Observatory, and public malware or phishing signals from free sources such as URLhaus and PhishTank.

Question 13

What does the link check on loot mean?

Accepted Answer

The badge shows that LinkLoot checked the links automatically at a specific time. "Links checked" means no blocking signals were found. "Checked with notes" means the loot is not automatically dangerous, but there were warning signals such as HTTP instead of HTTPS, hard-to-reach links, or notable file types.

Question 14

What happens after I submit loot?

Accepted Answer

Submitted loot may go through link checks and editorial approval before publication. Find its current status in your own entries. Approval for publication is separate from an automated assessment or practical testing.

Question 15

What does LinkLoot AI review in the check dialog mean?

Accepted Answer

The automated assessment summarizes available sources and evidence about usefulness, suitability, and possible risks. Depending on the entry, you may find notes, sources, a date, and existing results such as screenshots or reports. This is not a user rating or an independent review. Practical testing is documented only by specific test steps or results; without them, whether a test was performed remains unknown. LinkLoot's own tools are first-party offerings.

Question 16

What does the AI check for code, tools, deals, or prompts?

Accepted Answer

The scope depends on available sources and evidence. For code and tools, the assessment may analyze documentation, dependencies, installation notes, and known problems. For deals, price, validity, and conditions matter; for prompts and workflows, clarity and missing prerequisites matter. Only the individual entry's notes and evidence show which points were actually examined.

Question 17

Does LinkLoot execute third-party code?

Accepted Answer

Reading source code and documentation does not execute the code. Execution requires a separate test in an isolated environment. The available test steps and results show whether that kind of test is documented for an entry. Without this evidence, practical execution is not documented; that does not establish that no test ever took place.

Question 18

Where do public experience signals come from?

Accepted Answer

The review can use allowed public sources such as GitHub issues, releases, discussions, Hacker News, Product Hunt, Reddit threads, or public video and project pages. Private groups, logins, paywalls, or disallowed scraping routes are not used. Public sentiment is not proof of safety, but it helps answer questions like: did other users report setup problems, privacy concerns, or recurring bugs?

Question 19

Is a checked link guaranteed safe?

Accepted Answer

No. The link check is a quality and warning system, not a security promise. Websites can change, scanners can miss things, and downloads still require caution. LinkLoot therefore shows timestamps and notes instead of an absolute safe seal.

Question 20

What happens with risky links?

Accepted Answer

Blocking signals, for example a hit in a malware or phishing list, prevent normal publication. Risky cases are reviewed manually.

Question 21

What are Gems for?

Accepted Answer

Gems are internal platform credits for premium loot, store perks, courses, and selected LinkLoot features. They cannot be cashed out, are not freely transferable, and are not real money. You can see your balance in the navigation, profile, and on /gems.

Question 22

Does free LinkLoot access also mean a free tool?

Accepted Answer

No. LinkLoot access costs apply to the entry or unlock. An external provider may charge its own prices, subscriptions, or API fees. Missing provider prices mean unknown, not free. Check the provider's information before signing up or buying.

Question 23

How much should paid loot cost?

Accepted Answer

29 Gems is the standard recommendation. Mini loot sits at 15 Gems, strong workflows or templates at 39 Gems, premium or XXL loot usually at 49 to 79 Gems. Courses and bundles start closer to 149 Gems.

Question 24

Why not make everything expensive?

Accepted Answer

A 29-Gem standard loot is intended to stay within reach. Higher prices are tied to creator ranks. The currently offered Gem packages and their prices are shown on /gems.

Question 25

Can a low rank sell expensive loot?

Accepted Answer

Only within limits. Scout is capped at 29 Gems, Raider at 49, Captain at 79, Architect at 149, Legend at 299, and Mythic at 500 Gems.

Question 26

Where do I buy or use Gems?

Accepted Answer

You can buy Gems on /gems. In the Loot Store at /store, Gems can be used for profile perks and visibility boosts.

Question 27

What are LinkLoot Tools?

Accepted Answer

Under /tools, you will find LinkLoot's own utilities, such as Image Compressor, Image Converter, and PDF Editor, plus other tools and kits. Each tool page explains its use, processing, and applicable limits or Gem unlocks. Local-processing information applies to the individual tool.

Question 28

What is the difference between Image Converter and Image Compressor?

Accepted Answer

At /tools/image-converter you mainly change file format, for example HEIC to JPG or WebP to PNG, locally in the browser. At /tools/image-compressor the main goal is smaller file sizes, target KB, resizing, and social formats.

Question 29

How do name colors work in the Store?

Accepted Answer

Name colors are separate five-level skill trees. Each level costs Gems, requires a creator level, and makes the name more visible. Progress is tracked per color, so switching to another color means building that color from its own level.

Question 30

What else can I do with Gems?

Accepted Answer

You can tip creators directly on loot and profile pages, boost your own published loot for 24 hours, 3 days, or 7 days, unlock Profile Markdown from creator level 4, and use Loot polish for drafts on /submit.

Question 31

How does my creator title matter?

Accepted Answer

The title controls the price cap and creator share for paid unlocks. Scout and Raider receive 80 percent, Captain 85 percent, Architect 90 percent, Legend and Mythic 95 percent.

Question 32

How do I rank up?

Accepted Answer

The level system scores approved drops, upvotes, favorites, followers, paid unlocks, and completed lessons. Posting actively and publishing useful content pays off in several ways.

Question 33

Where can I see my progress?

Accepted Answer

Your score, level, tier, achievements, weekly goals, and leaderboard are in your profile at /profile. Public creator profiles are reachable through /user/{nickname}.

Question 34

Do 5000 upvotes mean 5000 Gems?

Accepted Answer

No. Upvotes pay milestone rewards only and are capped at 59 direct Gems per loot. A daily cap of 25 upvote Gems per creator also applies.

Question 35

What does daily check-in give?

Accepted Answer

Daily check-in gives 5 Gems. Streaks can add small bonuses: day 3 adds 5 Gems and day 7 adds 10 Gems.

Question 36

Are there rewards for placements?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Weekly top loot can receive season bonuses: rank 1 gets 50 Gems, ranks 2 to 3 get 25 Gems, and ranks 4 to 10 get 10 Gems. At least 5 net upvotes are required.

Question 37

Why do caps exist?

Accepted Answer

Caps keep the economy healthy. Creators get real motivation, while purchases and high-quality paid loot remain meaningful.

Question 38

How do I save loot for later?

Accepted Answer

You can favorite loot on loot detail pages. All saved items are collected under /favorites.

Question 39

How do I follow creators?

Accepted Answer

You can follow creators on public profiles or loot detail pages. Manage followed creators under /following.

Question 40

What influences my feed?

Accepted Answer

Your feed blends recency with interactions, favorites, followed tags, followed creators, categories, review and trust signals, and current community activity. Already seen items are pushed down for a while unless new activity makes them relevant again. Downvotes and "Less like this" reduce matching recommendations for you. Depending on the selected view, you see more personalized, followed, freshly reviewed, or currently strong loot.

Question 41

Why am I seeing a specific item?

Accepted Answer

In the feed, LinkLoot can briefly explain why an item appears, for example because of a creator you follow, a followed tag, your recent favorites or interactions, current review signals, fresh relevance, or stronger community activity. Paid placements are labeled separately.

Question 42

What appears in the inbox?

Accepted Answer

Under /inbox you find support tickets, direct messages, news, blog notices, updates from followed creators, and alerts for followed topics.

Question 43

How do I report feedback or bugs?

Accepted Answer

Use the feedback button in the bottom right or the contact page at /contact. Guests can optionally add an email address for replies.

Question 44

What can Looty do?

Accepted Answer

The visible LinkLoot agent is Looty. It explains public LinkLoot rules, finds approved loot, analyzes your own portfolio, and—when explicitly asked—reviews your drafts or current content visible to you. It can navigate internally, prefill /submit locally, and execute feedback or narrow edits to your own drafts only after your confirmation. Up to the last eight chat messages and required context are sent to OpenRouter. It cannot publish or buy anything, see another user’s private content, use admin powers, grant rewards, or send direct messages. LinkLoot’s own transparency duties and the disclosure duties of publishing users do not shift to the agent.

Question 45

What is public on my profile?

Accepted Answer

Your creator profile, nickname, bio, avatar, banner, published drops, and visible level signals are public. Private drafts, settings, inbox, and API keys are not public.

Question 46

Where do I change profile and notifications?

Accepted Answer

Under /settings you edit profile, bio, image, banner, newsletter or blog notices, following, API access, and account deletion.

Question 47

Can I change my nickname?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in settings. For regular users, changes are limited to longer intervals so public profile links stay stable.

Question 48

Where do I set up API access?

Accepted Answer

Signed-in users manage API keys under /api-agents or in settings. The technical documentation is available under /docs/api.

Question 49

How can a bot see my current price limit?

Accepted Answer

API clients call GET /api/v1/me. The response includes creatorTier, lootPriceCap, and economy.recommendedPaidLootPrices.

Question 50

Can normal API keys create new loot?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when the public API is enabled, the key has write permission, and loot submissions are enabled. POST /api/v1/loot/ also requires truthful declarations for text and media origin, realistic synthetic depictions, and the versioned publication confirmation. Normal API keys create PENDING loot; admin-owned keys can publish directly. Blog writes remain admin-only.

Question 51

What happens if an API price is too high?

Accepted Answer

POST /api/v1/loot/ and PATCH /api/v1/loot/{id} return 422 for normal API keys when gemPrice is above the allowed cap. Admin-owned keys remain capped at 500 Gems. Prices are validated server-side and never trusted from the client.

Question 52

Can bots create blog posts?

Accepted Answer

Only with an admin API key and write permission. Public API clients can read blog posts through /api/v1/blog/, but POST /api/v1/blog/, PATCH /api/v1/blog/{id}, and DELETE /api/v1/blog/{id} are admin-only.

Question 53

Where is the technical documentation?

Accepted Answer

The API documentation is available at /docs/api, with the OpenAPI contract at /api/openapi.
