Safety, legal notes, and sources

The image file is read and re-exported locally. LinkLoot stores no image bytes. The server only sees export usage for free limits or Gems.

Browser and device capabilities partly determine which codecs can be decoded or encoded locally.
If transparency, color space, or animation matters, verify after export that the target format is actually appropriate.

The tool does not replace manual review where color profiles, transparency, animation, or multi-page sources matter.

Convert images without upload

Many users are not looking for stronger compression, but for a quick format change: HEIC to JPG, WebP to PNG, or AVIF to JPG. This tool intentionally separates that search intent from file size and KB tuning.

Open HEIC and phone photos locally

iPhone photos in particular often arrive as HEIC or HEIF. The converter is designed to turn those files locally into a more widely accepted target format such as JPG without routing them through an upload service.

Format change instead of size tuning
