Gemini 4 Argon: Google’s New Frontier Model for Coding and Cybersecurity

Google has announced Gemini 4 Argon, a frontier model aimed at complex software engineering, enterprise knowledge work and cybersecurity defense. Google says it is first rolling out to trusted cyber defenders through its Fairwind Program, with broader access planned later.

A model built for long-running work

Google says Argon supports up to 1 million output tokens, compared with 64,000 previously. It reports 77.9% on DeepSWE v1.1 and 51.3% on Zapier’s AutomationBench. These are vendor-reported results, not guarantees of production performance.

Google also describes internal engineering uses, including code migration and optimization. It reports that Argon helped produce a Rust video decoder 2.7 times faster than an existing Rust port with identical output. This account has not been independently validated.

Cybersecurity access is restricted

The announcement emphasizes vulnerability discovery and remediation. Google says initial access is limited to trusted defenders and internal teams, with safeguards being strengthened during a phased rollout. Broader availability is planned for developers, enterprises and consumers, beginning with paid API customers and Google AI Ultra subscribers. No public general-access date is specified.

Google lists introductory API pricing of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens; cached input tokens are discounted 95% from the input price. Pricing and access details may change before launch.
