OpenAI has launched ChatGPT for Financial Services, an enterprise workspace that combines GPT-6 Astra with built-in financial datasets and source-level citations for eligible institutions.

OpenAI has launched ChatGPT for Financial Services, an enterprise version of ChatGPT Work aimed at investment bankers, equity researchers, and other financial-services teams. The product pairs GPT-6 Astra reasoning with built-in financial datasets, connected company data, and granular citations intended to let analysts trace figures and claims back to their sources.

ChatGPT for Financial Services puts market data inside the workspace

OpenAI says the product includes premium data from Daloopa, PitchBook, and LSEG News. The datasets cover earnings transcripts, financial statements, company fundamentals, and private-company information. OpenAI hosts and indexes that data on its own infrastructure, which it says is intended to improve retrieval, latency, and the way evidence appears during analysis.

That setup changes the starting point for common finance workflows. Teams can begin with research and financial analysis in one workspace instead of stitching together separate provider connections before asking an AI system to summarize or model the results. Customers can also connect their own data and existing subscriptions, according to independent coverage from TechRadar.

GPT-6 Astra is tied to research, modeling, and client materials

The launch targets work that sits between raw information and a deliverable: finding relevant facts, checking numbers, building financial models, and turning analysis into customized client materials. OpenAI developed the product with Morgan Stanley and Evercore as design partners, using their input to shape the workflow around day-to-day banking tasks.

Granular citations are the practical differentiator. A finance team can inspect the underlying source for a figure or claim while its analysis is still developing. That does not remove the need for analyst judgment, data-entitlement checks, or model validation, especially when an output informs an investment decision or client communication.

Access is limited to eligible financial institutions

ChatGPT for Financial Services is not presented as a generally available consumer feature. OpenAI directs interested organizations to financial-services sales, and TechRadar reports that access currently requires an enterprise subscription followed by an application for eligible institutions.

The availability model matters for teams comparing tools. The relevant questions are whether a firm qualifies, which premium datasets are included in its agreement, how its own data may be connected, and what review controls apply before generated analysis reaches a client. OpenAI's announcement does not establish that every dataset, connector, or workflow is available to every institution.

Source check

OpenAI's September 10 announcement is the primary source for the product scope, design partners, included data providers, citation feature, and GPT-6 Astra integration. TechRadar independently reports the launch, target users, enterprise-access path, and the built-in dataset approach. The product is a financial research and productivity system; it is not evidence that generated analysis can replace professional diligence or regulated advice.
